Description
Sculpture in the form of a box construction: wood, acrylic, gesso, glass, metal, parakeet feathers.
12"h x 12"w x 4.5"deep
Since some people who have viewed this piece of mine & accused me of being cruel to birds, I am making this statement:
No parakeets were harmed in the making of this sculpture.
Parakeets lose their feathers in their normal life process known as molting. New feathers grow in 5 to 8 weeks. The older feathers fall out & I collected them when they drop here and there. I do not keep pet parakeets in cages. They are free to fly about my studio just as they would in nature.
